Do you handle pyrotechnics (not 4th of July fireworks) for a living?
When tearing apart equipment at work I take precautions for static electric discharge, since one mistake can cost my employers up to $30k. But in your case, you are thinking about working upside down in a confined space covered with polyester carpeting. Even spraying the area with water to keep the humidity (AND following all the Haynes' precautions) exposes you to a wildly unmanageable risk. You'll have no tools with an exact fit (you were gonna take the sercurity screws off with a vise-grips, right? Jus' kiddin') and no electrical testing equipment that will work safely.
Plus you asked about USED parts, presumably for this job.
I'm with Lu: you've got several ounces of sodium azide pointed at you waiting for an inconceivably small amount of energy to turn to gas in a few hundred-thousandths of a second. Please reconsider.
I'm also with you: My SRS is out, I believe becaus I had a power-on fault one day, and I worry about it every moment that I'm driving. I simply have no choice but to sock away pennies until I can get a pro (sadly, probably my dealer) to fix it. But I will do it, and if I have to PB&J sandwiches for a year, I will manage it.
Now go do your routine maintenance and pass the Peanut Butter: we'll both be cruisin' happily soon.
Ben
