i have just purchased a 1991 9000 aero 5 speed with 105,000 miles. i live in san francisco, ca. the car is in excellent shape (i was given all the service paperwork on the car). there appears to have been no unusual recurring problems -- with the possible exception of the doors requiring "readjusting" -- they periodically failed to open.
i do have a mechanical problem that i cannot seem to isolate. the car stalls when being brought down to idle at a stop, for instance. it seems to be electrical, as i have noticed that sometimes the car's electrics will just flicker out prior to stalling. twice the car went completely dead only to just as mysteriously come back to life. i'm feaful that tracking down this kind of short will eat up time and money. has anyone out there experienced this problem? if not, can anyone hazard a guess as to what might be causing this possibly dangerous occurance? this is my second 9000 and i seem to remember reading somewhere that the model had electrical "issues" early in its production cycle, though i hadn't had any problems with my previous 1990 turbo. anyone's help would be greatly appreciated.
