1987 Saab 9000 Turbo "Lazarus"
Well today a friend came over and helped me re-attach the transmission. What a job that was - I had tried several times in the past week, once alone and once with my wife. The good trick there I learned was to keep the bolts on the clutch pressure plate a little loose so that the pressure disk could move around for alignment.
After the tranny was bolted on everything else was easy. By the time it got too dark to see all we had left to do was the starter and varoius wires and hoses in the engine compartment. Here's where the question comes in. As this is a hobby I did most of the disassembly in late July and now, though I have the Haynes Manual, I'm having trouble remembering where some of these cables attach (like which is the positive node on the starter, or how exactly the air filter hopusing screws down to the subframe). In mid august I realised that the job was going to take a while and started keeping a lab journal of what comes from where, but some of the early disassembly is completely forgotton. I've learned my lesson, but I'm wondering if anyone knows of a page with relatively detailed pictures of the engine information (hoses/wires) routing.
was it ever gratifying to see the transmission slide on!
