From the cat back, the exhaust has only two parts - a piece which is pipe/resonator/pipe (the back end of this piece is just behind the rear suspension), and the back piece is a short length of pipe, then muffler, then tailpipe. You can get by with the rear muffler only if the hole is back of the junction between the two pieces.
As far as who makes a good replacement, that's a tough one. Starla makes a cheap replacement, and Townsend has good prices on this, but it sure doesn't look as good as OEM, as far as the tailpipe. The black surrounding part on the tailpipe, which is oval and I think looks great with OEM, is a thin, round, pitiful looking thing on the Starla muffler. You could go with Starla but put on your own tailpipe, or perhaps saw off your old tailpipe from your OEM muffler and have somebody weld it on the Starla muffler. Possible also just to transplant the black outer shell surround part, but you'd have to remove the pitiful one on the Starla.
You could also go with a performance muffler, but you'd have to have a flange welded onto the input pipe on it to mate with the back of your resonator pipe. Also, if the remainder of your exhaust is OEM, replacing only the back end of the system with a performance product probably wouldn't do much but make it louder. Let us know what you end up doing.
