Quasi's site for many of the problems you might encounter. Also, Townsend's site has extensive repair info as well as specs and diagrams. Both are excellent resources for SAAB newbies.
Quasi's: <http://quasimotors.gar.net/>
Townsend: <http://www.townsendimports.com/>
You should be able to find out how to get to the cluster to replace the light at either of the sites. (It requires removing the top of the dash.) Supposedly not a hadr job once you know where all the screws are hidden.
I won't venture a guess on the temp gauge, only let you know that yours should not be going past about the middle of the yellow. Thermostat replacement is not difficult.
Sounds like you've done a great job taking care of the BPC solenoid. Just clean it out periodically.
The fuel thing sounds like a crack in the hose that runs from the filler neck down to the tank. Quasi has a section that adresses fuel smells in the cockpit, but yours sounds like the tube. It may not appear cracked, but it might have gotten bad enough to let vapor leak through until the level drops below the leak.
I think you're on the right track with everthing. Good luck!
