Aero wanna-be: what's involved in upgrading??

I have a modified SPG I dearly love. But my kids are getting bigger and I may succumb to the "need more room" syndrome by adding a 9000T to the Saab Stable. My preference would be to buy a 97 Aero in great condition, driven only on Sundays to church by the pastor's wife, a kindly woman who is afraid of speed and still thinks cars are priced by the '64 blue book. Assuming, however, that finding a 97 Aero in really good condition proves to be (a) too difficult or (b) too pricey, or more likely that the pastor's wife sees me coming and bargains me out of my eyeteeth...
What is involved in upgrading a late 90s (eg 97) manual trans 9000 turbo to Aero specs? Including engine, suspension, brakes, etc. I don't want flash on the outside so much as fire on the inside. Information on what's entailed (time and effort) and what $$ is involved, please. (I'll probably modify from there, so don't leave out the infrastructure that makes extra hp "safe".)
Knowledge, opinion and amusing (non-obscene) suggestions welcomed (in that order). Thanks.
