The 13 mm set screw on the side of the case just below the sensor holds the plastic guide that the sensor screws onto in place in the tranny case. If you want to remove the whole sensor, drive gear included, remove the set bolt and wiggle the whole unit out. You will notice that the insert I speak of has a hex at the top, as does the sensor itself. The hex on the insert fits into a matching indent in the differential case. If you partially dislodge the whole unit, it will only turn, and not unscrew. As I said, just remove the set screw and pull the whole assembly out.
Also, beware that there are different sizes of plastic drive gears on the sensor. I learned the hard way when I tried to retrofit a sensor into my '89CD. One of the gears was smaller in diameter and didn't hook up with the differential gears. Good luck !
