If you read between the lines as far as the contents of injector cleaner, most of these products have a high level of alcohol in them, usually methanol. I'm not a chemist, but levels of alcohol sufficient to really clean things up in the fuel system will also induce a high O2 content. That, of course, throws off the the mixture control causing rough running. In addition, and probably the reason its worse in the morning, is that the alcohol will both settle to the bottom of the tank plus attract water. So you have a nice watery alcohol mix right where the fuel pick-up is. My '96 9K LPT normally runs pretty well despite having to run on Canada's high sulphur fuels. But everytime I use an injector cleaner, I get some degree of the sympthoms you describe. I've had high idle, poor cold starts, rough running even into the next tank of fuel. For me, its usually work the fuel level almost to empty, then a fill of premium and its back to normal.
