Better than other Front WD cars for some reason...

I live in Western Michigan where we get a lot of lake effect snow and I have a 100 yard long driveway. Last winter (which was particularly bad) I worked for a VW/Audi/Subaru/Nissan dealer. Since there weren't many customers I had the oportunity to test a lot of different cars in heavy snow. The Audi Quattros are flat out the best snow cars you can buy. The Subarus are good at going through three feet of snow but actually a bit squirelly on hard packed or icy highways. Nissan 4x4's are much like the Subarus. Surprisingly my non-traction control 9000 actually was more stable than the VW's (Passats and Jettas) with traction control. While the 9K wasn't quite as good as the Audis, it wasn't that much worse, especially when you factor in the expense and complication of all wheel drive. The Audi ESP package is pretty phenominal though. At 70mph on a slick highway I'd definately prefer the Saab over the Subarus, Nissans, and VW's. Even with just all weather tires I spent most of the winter blowing by slow moving sport-utes. They always want to race. I stay with them pretty good away from a light and once we get up to speed I'll just motor right away from them when they start getting squirelly. I wonder what they think? And no, I'm not Evil Kenevel. I'm a very conservative, safe driver with a lot of grey hair and a good driving record. For some reason Saabs handle exceptionally well in the snow, if you find out why, let me know.
