I have the same problem on my 86 , but between cyl 2 & 3 . It was like this when I bought the car 5 years ago and as it has never given any indication of leaking , I have just left it .
It is a tight squeeze but I suppose you could drill it out with a right angle drill and then use an easy out but I would wait until the head is off (for a valve job or porting & polishing ?) It will be difficult , given the cramped quarters , to drill out the stud without running off one side into the threads . If you go this route , you may want to drill it while cold , but use the stud extractor when the head is good and hot !
Good luck , keep us posted . If you are successful ,it may motivate me !!
