I talked to the engineer who calibrated the AMM I had first. He called me when Jim Moncrief told him I had an AMM out of spec. He was VERY skeptical that it was bad, insisting that they calibrate to +/- 5 mV, but was very willing to send me another (overnight Saturday delivery). He said the only way to read under load voltage was if the car was moving or if the AMM was in a wind tunnel type deal. If anything, the car ran somewhat worse with the new one. I took your advice and replaced the plugs, cap and rotor. The wires are only a few months old.
The only nioce thing about this whole deal is that once I do find it, I'll have all new ignition and FI systems...
Is it true what Basil says about the ECUs in '89? I think it was the first LH 2.4 year, right? I read at the Townsand site that if you get a new ECU you need to replace the system relay as well as that's generally what fries the ECU.
