injectors cleaned at Jiffy Lube

I had my fuel injectors cleaned at Jiffy Lube. Shortly after this procedure the “check engine” light came on. I called Jiffy Lube and the manager said that it was normal and caused by the additive put in the gas and the light would go off in two to three days. Well, it did not and the car runs horrible. It’s stalling at stop signs, bucking and coughing on the road, gas mileage is off by a lot, and occasional smoke out the exhaust took it but to Jiffy and they reset the “check engine light” only to have it come back on again within minutes. Is there cause and effect here? or just bad timing!
