The shop said the shift linkage and motor mounts are ok.
I do notice that if I'm cruising in 5th gear at 60mph and I let off the gas and step back on the gas firmly, I can feel/hear a thump which means the motor is moving a little when I step on the gas, but the shop said the motor mounts are ok.
The gear bearings seem quiet as I drive and the trans shifts smoothly between gears. It never grinds when I change gears. Also downshifting is avoided until the car is slowed to a point where it should be in a lower gear.
How can you tell if a syncro is going bad? What are the telltale signs to look for?
Thanks,
Keith.
Otherwise its a beautiful car that treats the driver really well.
