The switch on the rear part of the T-body towards the bottom is got something to do with the cruise control I think, I hope that the case cause that what I've always thought...
My car's got the high idle problem as well(88 model)and I know that it's due to the AIC valve that sits just in front of the T-body. When the car starts acting up and the idle seems to want to stick at or near 1500 rpms and then when I give it a little more gas it sticks even higher at say 2000 rpms. Either how If I open the hood and tap the AIC Valve with the end of a screwdriver or even my knuckle it'll begin to settle down where it's supposed to be just above 900 rpms. This part I've tried to clean as others here have done by using WD-40 and although it runs fine for a while (read 2 weeks at best) the problem comes right back. I've found them over the net for about $130 or so, but haven't gotten around to actually fixing it for good with a known good part.
