I have had a similar problem for the past year. When you start out with the ACC set to 70 and ECON or AUTO is on, and the engine and air temperature is cold, as the car warms up the heat comes through just fine. After the interior temperature has reached the setting, it will start to blow cold air. It does not cycle on and off. It will start getting quite cold inside and the only way to get any heat is to turn the setting up to HI. Then, of course it only blows hot and will cook you out of the car if left on that setting. We will be going down the road switching between 80 some degrees and HI to maintain a comfortable temp. The heater flap arm is in good shape. I have cleaned the little dash sensor fan and it is in great shape and the little fan runs.
Sounds similar to your problem. I was planning to switch the sensor with another one to see what difference that made.
If anyone has ideas, I'd love to hear them.
Thanks
