Ari, thanks a lot for your advice.
I've subsequently done a search on your previous postings, and note you said that if it's a fuel cut off, the driver could be thrown forward to the windscreen if he's not wearing seat belt.
My situation was a lot milder than this. There was no engine shut down. It still maintained 3000 rpm at all times, though each time I stepped on gas to try to go > 3000 rpm, the car jerked and rpm dropped back to 3000.
It could, as you said, be an ignition problem: spark plugs difficult to ignite while overboosting.
BTW, Ari, I understand from your previous postings that in a fuel cutoff situation, the engine will stop for about 2 seconds. Will it then restart on its own, or do you need to turn the key to restart it?
