Very simple on the 9000
REPLACEMENT
Lift the car. If a jack is used the car must be supported on axle stands.
Remove the wheel.
Remove the three bolts securing the bail joint to the suspension arm.
Remove the lock washer (4A in the illustration). Remove the bolt securing the ball joint to the steering swivel member and remove the ball joint (4B).
IMPORTANT: If the ball joint is stuck, try prying it a little with a screw driver in the slot on the spindle.
Clean the ball joint seating in the link arm.
Fit the bail joint to the steering swivel member. Insert the bolt (4B) and screw on the nut. Ensure that the bolt locates in the slot in the ball joint. Refit the locking ring.
Locate the ball joint in the suspension arm.
Tighten the three bolts (3 in the illustration) securing the ball joint to the suspension arm. Tightening torques: 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.)
Tighten the bolt (4B) securing the ball joint to the steering swivel member. Tightening torques: 50 Nm (36 ft. lbs.)
Fit the road wheel and lower the car to the floor. Tightening torques: 120 Nm (89 ft. lbs.)
Check and possibly adjust the toe-in.
Have Fun
