On your sensor, try putting a small dab (technical measurement term) of Vaseline on the hub where the motor shaft fits into the frame of the switch. That is, the shaft end where the actual fan is, opposite the motor itself. Has worked for me for almost a year now despite air temps dropping to -16C.
On the headlights, one thing to check is the connection of the wiring harness to the lamp unit. Not the connections to the bulbs themselves but the multi-point connection that resides right up next to the fender. My '96 CS had the same problem and I thought it was the relay. Messed around with that with no results. Starting checking connections and found the connection I describe had worked itself a bit loose in the socket. Socked it back tight and no problems sense.
As far as the pictogram display, mine indicates two bulbs even if one tailight is out. Same with the headlights.
Hope this helps.
