You should stay away from the higher pressures. Running up near the absolute max pressure is risking a blowout. Yes, the pressure will increase with heat - both from hot days, and from driving at speed.
If the tires were wearing wrong at 35 psi, then get the alignment checked! They should not be anywhere near underinflated.
Personally, I run 34 psi front, 32 psi rear. Much less than 32 psi front tends to make the front end wander more than I like. More than 34 psi makes for too hard a ride, and the tires wear unevenly. These are for both my summer P4000's and my winter Gislaved Nordfrosts.
