I will be picking it up tomorrow from Roberti (meeting in Boston). It has 64k on it, and was a one owner/Corp registration. Roberti replaced the idlers and serpentine as well as addressed a bunch of other little stuff on the car, including towhook cover, 4 exh hangers, a frt speaker (used) brake pads, cab fan sensor, a few bulbs and three wiper blades. They also are putting a nw set of Mich Pilot sports on the aero rims. They accomodated me in another way. I had 4 5-Lug 16" alloy's with Gislaveds on them, and they are swapping these for a set of 4-Lug alloys with Goodyear Alpines (i think). Carfax was clean, except for an emmissions failure at a Mass inspection.
Is there consensus on the likely maintenence items I will face over the next few years? IE alternator at 90-100k, struts at least by xxk, that kind of thing.. seems that it can vary greatly from the threads I've read, and I wanted to get an idea of what to expect. It's great that the idlers and belt are not an issue. Based on the repair history the previous owner was diligent in having problems addressed. The history inidcates there was a major radio problem, the report doesn't exactly say what was done, just what they worked on... is there a way to decode the service summary report? Does the F/C number mean anything?
Other items in the list are the gear shift knob at 5k, a thermostat at 55k, a front pipe bracket, a hdlght wiper motor, wipre arm, antenna rod, and this fall they replaced the airbag pad due to a light beingon.
Having driven a 97 900s from '97-'00 and then a Viggen from spet '00 until the other week, I am very familiar with the breed and assume that I will miss the rush provided by the Vigg,... so sad... but I look forward to larger car as I are a tall one...
I've been on TSN for years, but I don;t think I have ever posted in the 9000 board before... hi all!
