Hi all. As already said, the various seals are still listed on the Saab system. Which is quite suprising as in my experience, very few B series engine parts are still listed, and as the water pump is notoriously weak... As to actual availability, I do not know. And they aren't cheap (around GBP15 each). The Graphite seal that faces the impellor (8304271); oil seal (8304255); and bearing (8304206) are the same for the 1.85l engine (*see note*) and all 2 litre B engines. On -76 cars, various additional o-rings are used to seal a brass bearing cage. 77- cars don't have this cage.
In the UK there are two or three specialist companies that offer a waterpump kit for 77- cars, which is reputedly made by the original manufacturer. I can't vouch for that, but the kit does appear to be good quality, although the OE impellor (still available - the shaft isn't) is slightly better finished. Approximately 100-200 of these kits I understand were recently shipped to the US, but I have no idea who to. They sell in the UK for approx GBP90. No use for pre-77 cars though.
Note: My microfiches only run as far back as 1974, so I don't know if there were any differences in seals etc. before then, or what was used on the original engines (Triumph type).
