I got the pics uploaded. Since my previous posts have been long, I'm going back to a short model. Would you please provide me with your feedback on my dilemma. Here it is. I now have two (2) burnt orange Saab 99's. I've spent an awful lot of time on the 79 getting it to running condition, however, it still needs more work. The dilemma I have is. Do I move every thing over to the 80 99 I just purchased? Here are some details to help.
1979
- Sat in junkyard for 4 years
- Engine runs, but had hard time starting (162k miles)
- Interior needs major rework
- Steering rack is shot
- Speedo doesn't work
- Very little rust
- Rear qtr needs body work
- Passenger door window shattered this weekend with no one in the garage
- Front grill needs piecing together
- Inner u joints are suspect
1980
- Interior immaculate, including door panels
- A lot of lower rust
- Engine has 84k miles on - but running erratic (possible easy fix)
- Rack is 10 times tighter than 79
- Car handles extremely well
- All electrical works except headlights.
- Trunk carpet still looks good
Please look at the link and give me your honest opinion.
