seems to me that save for a blocked pickup tube, a blocked anything else would tend to higher oil pressure. with that light on, it would most likely knock while idling. 4-7 psi is nothing for that engine and you'd know it real quick if the pressure was that low. If you've checked all the grounds (the same ground is used for every thing on that cluster or it grounds to the block...) and cleaning them up doesn't solve the problem, go get some kind of oil pressure tester quick.
