I gutted the inside and vacuumed it out, and hauled everything in the basement, which is already over-flowing with 99 parts....But I have no spare hatch or spare seats > so, I think I will locate a 900 hatch and 900 burgundy leather seats(I already have the word out I'm looking)...the interior panels are in great shape BTW! The big gaping holes left by the tail lights is not a problem, I'll just metal patch them and use bondo(did I say a bad word?). I work in a body shop 40 hours/week, so none of the rust bothers me, and none of it is structural > the pan is in real good shape too....no holes! Well, exept for some where the spare tire was. The other holes in the body are almost all contained to the inner wheel wells, so repairs don't have to be pretty, cus undercoating will hide all the patches. Since I work in a shop, the paint work will be show quality, cus I know of no other way to do it. Stripping everything to bare metal will be the biggest task> current paint on it is checked, faded, and sun-baked/weathered...can't put more paint over the top of bad stuff.

Tomorrow I'll try to get the beast running, cus if the engine has problems, then the body work and paint will not be so important right now. I anticipate tranny problems already, but I have a spare 4spd and/or 5spd for it. Change some fluids, give it some fresh tune-up parts, find an alternator to throw on it, steal the battery from the 73....Zoooom!
