Ok, So im the proud owner of a new to me 1975 99 4dr. I noted today when i started it up that the coolant fan doesent come on until the temp needle is up into the red. Ive done to many head gaskets in my time so this makes me nervous. I also noted that the heat wasnt hot, even though both the hoses leading to the heater core were hot..odd...perhaps it just need a good flush. When the guage was way up in the red right before the fan came on , it was getting warm, but then chilled right out again. Odd. I also noted that the fan sensor switch has only one wire coming off it. I thought that was odd, ive never seen a one wire sensor. So an imput? Bad guage? Need a lower temp fan switch? Time to flush the heater core? Somehow i have a feeling these are all related..
