Two more things:
With ignition, you can use the original 99 setup. You take the 99 dist. and remove the gear and anything south of that. take a 16V dist. and remove the cam key from the similar end. put it on the 99 dist. and you are set. The vacuum advance will sit in there oposite from where the 900 version sits but it works. The other idea is to take the setup from and early 90016VT and just splice it into the original system...granted, I'm saying this second part assuming you are using the later 99 electronic (black box) ignition. With a points set up, I imagine you could just do the cam key swap. As long as the dist. is 77 and later, you'll be fine. The earlier ones had the two 10mm bolts holding it to the block, the later had a single 13mm bolt and plate setup.
The other thing is that you will need to modify your radiator. I have always simply added a lower outlet on the driver's side bottom and left everything else the same. I usually use one 9000AC fan on the front of the radiator. I've never had problems with this setup.
As far as installing AC goes, the engine can take it but I don't think you'll have room. You'd have to modify every pulley that usually comes on the 16V engine because they were the FOURTH pulley setup on those engines...the ideal is to only have ONE groove if you can. The AC tensioner pulley on the 16V would be about 2 inches into the firewall.
I'm needing some kind of water injection and bigger injectors with this car I drive now...or a megasquirt system. I'm fairly dumbed down now and though it is still fun to drive, it is nothing like it can be...
