I wouldn't recommend using the 1.7 freewheel transmission with the more powerful 2.0. When the 99 first came out, it continued to retain the freewheel, which was a remanant of the two-stroke, but SAAB realized that the torque generated when you step down on the gas after freewheeling is too stressful on the transmission. Even with the 1.7 it can be a problem, so they removed the freewheel by the time they went to the 1865cc engine.
Does your car have a carb or D-jet injection?
The easiest 2.0L swap would be another engine with the same type of fuel system as you currently have, i.e., a '72-4 carb or D-jet engine. There are issues with the fuel delivery pressure and hardware if you install a K-jet engine.
