Seb, the car looks pretty good. There are more knowledgeable people on the board than me when it comes to body part interchangeability and body work (ie. DougM), but I'm pretty sure that the wheel arches, and parts of the floor pan are the same between the 99 and c900.

Other people could probably give you better information than I could on 4-speed trannies than I can, but I've had a lot of 99's with 4 speeds, and I never had a problem with the transmission on any of them. My current 4-speed came out of a '79 900EMS. It has about 200,000 miles on it and doesn't make any noise. My former mechanic said he had never known a 4-speed to fail (though I'm sure they have), and that part of the reason was that there are fewer moving parts in the same space as the 5-speed. Can anyone verify or refute this? I have no idea what the part availability is like for 4 speeds. I do know that mine is quiet and showing no signs of letting-up. (Knock on wood.)

POR-15 has a rust coating paint that bonds with the rust and is seemingly impervious to scratching, chipping, peeling, and moisture. I hope the Swiss govt. wouldn't fail a car because it's painted. They also have steering wheel refurbishing kits, metal-based patching compounds, and a bunch of other cool stuff. Check out their site: http://www.POR-15.com

My donor motor is from an '87 c900, and is equipped with the high pressure turbo. Was the LPT ever available in the US?

You may also want to consider SPG/Aero (or similar aftermarket) springs. My car sits a bit high with the stock 900 springs. If you're in need of shocks, try eshocks.com. I was able to get new billsteins from them pretty reasonably priced.

Jon
