I'm a wishful saab 99 owner. I drive a C900 right now and really like it - I love the history and look of the 99 and would love "upgrade."

The down side: finances are tight and (worse) time is crunched for the next little while as I am getting married soon, still in school, and working full time.

That comes to the bottom line that I need to find a car that is driveable as is and isn't going to require immediate, in depth work but I can't really afford to buy one that isn't going to need a bit of work. At the same time, I don't want to buy one that needs significant work and not be able to do it and create bigger problems down the road. I don't mind a few dents that can be repaired later - but letting rust go or suspension work etc. would make things much harder down the road.

I've been tempted by the blue listed in the classifieds right now - I love the fact that it is a manual and I've seen some additional pictures and it looks doable.

On the other hand, one has just recently been listed on e-bay and might be had for a little less money (hard to tell).

Has anyone looked at either of these cars in person? Any ideas on what would be needed to make them a reasonable daily driver?
