Like I told you on the phone, check all the basics first. Make sure all the timing marks line up, and make sure the points are set right < setting by dwell angle IS the best method. Also check the main grounding point at the lower front of the battery tray. High fuel consumption could be one of three things, throttle switch improperly adjusted(I have a page from NINES on how to adjust it), or too high a fuel pressure(28 psi is what you want, but you need a gauge hooked between the fuel hose at the firewall and the fuel rail). The third thing is related to the engine sensors, which takes a d-jet tester to verify readings.
