I've always used one of those cheap cable hoists you can get from J.C. Whitney for $10+s/h. The two most critical hangups I can warn you aboaut
from my vast repertoir of experience is #1: Get one of those wooden or
plastic deals that you stick through the pressure plate and clutch disk
and into the pilot bushing to align the clutch disk before you tighten the
bolts on the pressure plate. Eyeball it like the peep sight on a closed
gunsight. If it is not alighned right, you will never get the motor to mate back to the trannny. #2: Once you have your hoist hooked up to the engine block, and after you have the motor mounts out and the transverse
torque rod loose, but before you take the engine to tranny bolts out; lift
the engine/trans up about 2 inches and put a brick or a piece of 2x4, (Preferably of "Norwegian Wood"), under the transmission. Take about 1/2
of the tension off the hoist, but not all and take the engine:tranny bolts
out. the engine should now slide nicely from the transmission with a littl
forward tug. If it doesn't check to make sure all bolts are out, and vary
the up and down tension on the engine until it loosenes up. Good Luck!
