Getting fuel to your engine on a stand is probably the easiest (although potentially dangerous) part as a working fuel pump would pull gas from a cup or bottle or can by runnning a hose from the intake side into the gas. You are going to need more of an electrical system than just a battery to get it started - the ignition has to be powered and I am not sure just having the alternator turning would do this long, especially at low speeds (you would need a voltage regulator attached to the alternator anyway since most older ones were external.)
Another issue is a cooling system. Running your engine dry even for a little while could overheat the engine and probably kill the water pump.
Vent the exhaust outside too.
