Bruce,
I chatted with you a number of times, yes! I thought this was a rule not to interchange halves, hence I ended up intstalling another engine which suffered a front main bearing seizure.
Hmm, I shall open the case tonight and inspect that connecting rod bearing. Yet when I rolled that front bearing, it seamed ok. perhaps it was the rear or the middle bearings The broken crumpled section of the lower case is right behind the passenger motor mount. Yes! this explains that rattling I heard before the engine abruptly died..and now I assume one of the loose bearings caught between the motor and case? Hmm..and I took good care of this engine. I always questioned why Stroker williams carried a spare engine in trunk! I'll report back as soon as I investgate further.
Thanks Bruce!!!
