Spiv, I suspect the blubbering is a factor of engine loading/RPM that only show in 1st gear. Second behaves normally, as do 3rd and 4th. Part/low throttle responses are fine, car drives just like it did. What I want to do are a sisxty mile freeway mileage test at 60 MPH, 3900 rpm with standard R&P ratio. If mileage is same 28-30, I will be satisfied. There really is only three notable throttle positions when driving any 2-stroke, idle, 10-20% lite driving and cruiseing, and any throttle position over 25% makes no difference unless RPM is factored in , full throttle 3/4 and full only effect engine speeds with load above 5K. So back to where I am interested in is , highway mileage and any other peculilarities as fowling or in my case pinking at peak torque at power settings ( 3800 rpm with 20-70 % throttle applied 4 th gear only. I have only seen y-2's as an emulsion tube
on any solex for saabs. as an interesting sidebar I rough check the float levels by freshly painting a wire and inserting it down the emulsion tube to check fuel level by measuring where tyhe paint is washed away on the wire. Thanks for the reply. Don
