Be real careful with the gasket (big rubber molding). Wasn't easy to find when I was a V4 guy 10+ years ago. I would get the glass out, and then if evidence of rust or or such gently pull the gasket away and clean the body. then replace the gasket using a little 3M windshield sealer. There is a trick which uses a string to continuously fold the gasket around the new glass but I don't think that I can describe it well in print. Oh I'll try; Get the glass started and then lay a length of strong string over the edge of the glass so that it's extending into and out of the car. As someone presses on the glass and the string is drawn along the edge it rolls the rubber lip up and over the glass which then seats in the groove. One picture would be worth... Use copious soapy water to install the glass. Silicon spray works much better but some guys say that it promotes rust. (I know, glass and rubber don't rust but the body rim is the concern). Clean the groove in the gasket where the glass goes with a stiff brush first. You may know this but a broken windshield can make a nasty laceration with barely a touch. I ripped myself in a salvage yard once and didn't even know that I had touched the windshield. I was getting gauges from a '68 96 deluxe (what a car). Installing the lock strip requires a special tool which you may get from a body shop supply. I actually made one from a piece of 1/8" welding rod. Pulling it out requires just that, gently pull. Get a look at the old factory Saab V4 manual if you can. It shows all of this in the body section. The C900 is really not much different so see that book if you can. Good luck.
