What works for me.
Clean the glass--windshield--gasket--windshield opening-2 hours or more.
mount gasket on windsheld-- you will be finished in 5 minutes. Just set the windshield and gasket in the opening with lower rubber lip hooked over the lower metal edge. the rubber should cover the metal all across the bottom and half way up the sides at this point. You are almost finished. Now whip out your sears or Snapon cotterpin puller, work the rubber over the metal edge up the sides 2-3 inches at a time, then hop outside and push down and in, repeat a couple times and it is in. Some like to use the black sealer, originally Saab used a white body type sealer that worked well. the last step, lube the slot with my favorate tire lubricant(Freylube-no rim rust-PREMA)or equivlant and just push the aluminum lock strip in place.
