Presumably you have a cherry picker or some kind of hoist to install the engine or engine/trans combination into the car? So lift the engine off the engine stand, set it on the ground or on a table of some kind (55 gallon drum with a piece of plywood on top works great), install the transmission and starter, lift it up again balanced with a little tip to the rear, and stuff it in the car. I don't see the need for any fancy sideways engine stand adapter, unless you intend to do many many units like Jack has.
