Recently, I started my saab, put it in 1st gear and rolled down the driveway to revive the dead battery in my wife's car with my jumper cables. When I pulled the handle to unlock the hood ( which had always worked smoothly), the cable snapped and came off in my hand. I put the car in reverse and backed it up , but when I restarted it later, the clutch pedal went right to the floor and I couldn't get the car out of reverse once the engine was running. The car's on blocks so that I can run the engine to keep the battery charged by starting it in gear. The first time I did this , I noticed that the right front wheel was turning much more slowly than the left . I'd appreciate your suggestions and answers for these questions:
Is there a way to disconnect the reverse lock on the ignition so that I can pop start the car in 1st (with the freewheel engaged) and then drive it to the shop (by upshifting carefully once the car's moving)?
Is there a way to pop the hood lock from underneath so that I can see what needs to be fixed and replace the hood cable?
What are possible reasons for the right wheel to be binding?
Thanks.
