My oil pressure is running about 15 - 40(max when it is cold), so it is much lower than it should be and much lower than it was when I first got the car(a '72 96 V4). So I am planning on replacing the oil pump, but after searching this BB it looks like worn balance shaft bearings can cause low oil pressure too. Is that correct? Can I replace these bearings without taking the engine apart? I have to lift the engine to replace the clutch and oil pump anyway, but is it much more involved to get to the balance shaft bearings? What other things should I replace while there? It runs great and burns no oil, so I feel it doesn't need much, but would appreciate input from all the great minds out there. Thanks for the help!
