Hi JohnSR,
There are definitely issues with the Weber 2 barrel and fuel boiling, causing hot start problems. I have this setup on one of my Sonetts, and have never experienced this problem. However, this summer, I talked with a fellow VSaaber that claimed he could hear the fuel boiling after a hot shutdown. He swore that it was the reason he burned a piston- showed me the remains of the piston in utter disgust. He figured this out after the failure. Told me that he got very good at shutting down the motor and quickly removing the carb cover to check the fuel. You might listen for the boiling or pop the cover to see if there is fuel there after a hot shutdown. Piece Manifolds sells a spacer plate that may help reduce the carb temp. I don't understand why only some people have this problem though.
One other thought- switch to an electric fuel pump if you haven't already. Those that have the hot start problem say it helps refill the bowl quickly, reducing the problem.

PS- as Tio said, you don't need choke on a hot engine!
