Time for a V4 rebuild. Looking for cam advice. Posted by BAAB [Email] (#1214) [Profile/Gallery] (more from BAAB) on Wed, 31 Mar 2010 06:05:43 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I have a 1700 V4 in my '72 96 with a single bbl weber carb. I also purchased a 2" sport exhaust. I am NOT interested in having a 100+ rpm hot rod V4, but I am trying to rebuild the V4 so that it winds out to the highest rpms very, very smoothly. My specific question in this post is regarding the cam. I would like to hear from those of you with experience with the non-stock cams. I want a smooth idle, but the one thing I am going for most of all is a strong and very smooth wind out throughout the highest rpms. I plan to balance all rotating parts, but regarding the cam, which one is recommended? And which valve springs need to go with a particular cam? Thanks very much for the help.
