These engines we're not balanced from the factory.
If your application is a stock Sunday driver with lots of rubbernecking, balancing would add no value to the experience. Don't consider unless you have increased the horsepower significantly and/or expect to rack up some brutal hard miles. IMO, consider spending the money for a 2 barrel induction &/or Jetex exhaust.
I have a ~115 HP balanced motor. It made sense to spend the extra money on balancing. As a balanced motor, I have no reservation heading up to the 7k RPM range. Regardless, the motor has peaked around 6500 anyway.
