i finally made myself a proper tool and got that bad fuel pump off the '78 99 EMS I picked us about a month ago. THe car had been sitting for about 5 months and has nearly a full tank of fuel in it...I figured all would be fine - I'd drain the fuel tank, replace the pump and off I'd go. Not the case, the tank is really rusty. I know this has been discussed in the past but was hoping someone could explain again some of the options for cleaning this thing out.
