Whitish colored smoke from exhaust on V-4.......

The V-4 on my 1967 Mod 96 is blowing white-ish grey exhaust when I start her up. I thought it was the head gasket, so I went out, and found a replacement motor. After talking with a few Saabers, I was told that a sign of a blown head gasket is a white exhaust, "milkshake" oil mixture, and dropping coolant levels. I started the r&r process for the engine, and when I drained the oil, it was clean, with no signs of contaminates. The coolant level was ok, also.
I have a Weber carb set up, with a new MSS exhaust. The motor has good compression. Am I overlooking something, could something other than a head gasket be causing this....by the way, the motor did sit all Winter, but was started at least weekly.
