I guess you are going to turbo an atmo engine??
My understanding is that the larger pistons are what give atmo engines the higher compression....
As for the pistons seizing that sounds logical, but have never heard of it happening. Normally atmo engines do not take well to turbos because of detonation caused by the combination of high boost, high compression and possibly bad ignition and ignition timing.
In theory if you run the car with devices to lower the intake temperature such as an intercooler and or water injection you should be able to run the car with moderate boost. If you don't run a efficient intercooler or water injection I think you are asking for trouble unless you use very low boost, and to get the most out of low boost you really need a new smaller turbo, and with that expense you might as well add an intercooler.....
Also as mentioned ealier running good fuel (98RON) or better will also help eliminate detonation.
On the upside running a car with high compression and a turbo will make it very responsive :-) New turbo cars ie WRX run around 10:1 I think, so it can be done.
oh, and don't forget to add an engine oil cooler.....a must have on turbo engines.
