Rowan, It is similar to 900 hub but: the hub that the wheel bolts to needs a puller to remove it - this is best done with hub still on car. Yes do remove the ball joints from the A-arms to remove the hub- It is easier and you may find you have need of new ball joint or joints. I recommend pulling the entire axle and cleaning and repacking the inner driver while you are there. Check both joint boots as this is the time to replace them if there is any sign of wear. If you plan to keep the car I would replace both boots and both ball joints while it is apart [ boots and ball joints are inexpensive ], clean and regrease both drive joints as well. If you do replace the ball joints I loosen the nuts and get the taper joint popped loose before I remove the assembly from the car.
