Of course '73's didn't come that color. I believe the color was copper coral metallic. Times are gonna change though.

I own a severely rusted 74EMS which is currently up on blocks in my garage waiting for me to grind out the cancer and patch it back up. I started on strong with the poor thing a long time ago and lost my desire very quickly. I started to realize after 17 years of ownership that I might have to finish it or get it the hell out of my garage. Then came the internet savior by the name of Chip Lamb.

After searching the net for parts I was becoming very frustrated. It seems that parts for pre 75 99's are very rare or really expensive(i.e. $900 for four calipers). I did manage to find a few parts I needed by having conversations with Chip via e-mail. Monday morning I rang him up to order some inner and outer CV boots which he had in stock. We were going back and forth talking Saab stuff when he mentioned a '73 99 for sale on the internet. He said "you know, you can make that car your EMS". I looked it up, and sure enough, there it was. '73 99E,116k, orig. Ariz car, never seen salted roads, needs paint job, runs and drives, 2.0l, 4sp, A/C not hooked up(don't need air anyway)

hmmmm. Rust free body, my mechanicals & electricals are A-one(daily driver before garaged), just needs a paint job, two cars to make one, lots of spare parts. Finally God(Chip) was looking out for my Saab.

I call the owner up hoping the car is still for sale(my luck he sold it yesterday). Yep, he says, I still got it. Still for sale. After a week of talking back and forth making arrangements, the car will be in my driveway by tomorrow night(10 hr round trip)

More to come on the 1973 sterling silver metallic 99EMS.
