A humorous breakdown

Last evening, just at the start of the busy rush hour traffic, I broke down at a very busy intersection for the major highway. From the way it died, I knew it was fuel related. I quickly turned on the flashers and popped open the hood to check my fuel pump/stop light fuse. It looked Ok, so I closed the hood and started pushing my '74 EMS across one lane uphill towards a Firestation about 150 feet away. I pissed off a lot of people! That short distance sure seemed a long way! When I got to the station lot, I realized I had left my tools in one of my other cars. I usually keep a remote starter with me to check for spark/fuel etc.solo, but didn't have that either. I'm worried that the Firechief is going to come out at any minute and tell me to get my car out of the way imediatly. I do carry a warchest of spairs with me in the trunk, but with no tools, what can you do. I called my girlfreind to bring my car with the tools, and to be my key turner. In just a few minutes, I realized that my quick look at the fuse was too quick. It had the smallest hairline crack in the element. Don't you just love the ceramic 8 ampers?? Maybe I should go get my eyes checked out, but I'll have to go to the chiropractor first for my aching back from pushing the 99.The moral of the story....look TWICE before you push.
