Just wanted to say that I have had a number of these go bad over the years, including one on my '76 99. THe internals had actually busted sending the ball bearing on down the line nearly plugging up the tank's return pipe. I had the car worked on by a guy in Gresham, Oregon (I'm horrible with names but could find it quickly if ever needed ) who informed me that there was a recall on the section of line from the valve to the tank as the original short line risked (though not much) being hit by the rear axle were the suspension to bottom out. The replacement was a long, curved piece that allowed more than enough room for axle movement.
If I understand your dilemna, the same valve can be found on 900s. just go pluck a few from a junk yard...one should work fine.
