I fixed my missing out problem. Turns out that the wonderful rebuilt distributor from PartsAmerica.com had failed. The bottom plate that the Pertronix and vacuum advance plate bolt to had come loose from the distributor body allowing the Pertronix to move around way too much. We
hammered some brass pieces in to wedge it back in solid and the car runs like a bat out of hell. No missing out, no backfires, just plain smooth power. Really pushes you back in your seat.
From what we could tell, they took this plate off to rebuild the distributor but when the reattached it their puny little spot welds eventually and predictably broke freeing the plate to move around quite a bit. Crappy workmanship to say the least.
Anyway, thanks to all who helped as usual. Vintage Saabers rule.
(I have to be careful not to lay rubber now. That Weber 32/36 and MSS exhaust make a major difference. I just had a Civic for lunch!)
